About Formato

Formato builds private browser tools for everyday file jobs — starting with HEIC image conversion and audio extraction from video. Files are processed on your device; we do not upload your media for conversion.

What we build

Stage 1 focuses on two everyday jobs: converting iPhone HEIC photos to PNG/JPG, and extracting MP3/WAV/M4A from video files you already have. No YouTube URL downloaders — file-only tools that stay privacy-first and ad-policy friendly.

How conversion works

Media is processed in your browser (HEIC decode and FFmpeg.wasm). We do not upload your photos or videos to our servers for conversion. There is no daily conversion count — only a per-file size limit so the browser can finish the job.
